Blast from the past

I had a strong feeling of something-is-not-okay during a meeting today.

One of our vendors opened his notebook, connected it to a projector, and started showing us something on the wall. In the beginning I couldn’t quite pinpoint it. Slides, diagrams, images, text. Normal things. What the heck is not normal? Then I realized! He was running Windows XP and Internet Explorer 6!

It felt so odd to see someone demoing a web site by using Windows and Internet Explorer. As unnatural as seeing a horse carriage in the middle of Tokyo in 2010.
